The coverage of your car insurance depends on your insurance carrier. Some carriers offer to automatically add the new drivers to the policy; some require the individual addition to the insurance coverage. In both cases, however, your premium increases. Because the addition of your teenager to the insurance may not be automatic, be sure to research and understand its coverage so as not to risk having your teenager uninsured. It is always best to keep safety first.
