Sometimes insurance deals look really good and at times drivers end up in real messy situations and in fact this has turned out to be quite bothersome for most people. People who do business with Direct Auto Insurance don’t seem to have a lot of answers but a lot of questions and no explanation. They found, to their utter surprise that the insurance company itself was closed and the doors were found locked. Now the ones that have insured here are at a loss as to what they were supposed to do? If they do get stopped for not having insurance (while on probation) it would easily mean going to jail. Although there are many of them who are worried that they might be breaking the law yet again, but only this time it cannot be considered their fault. The woman who had this experience does not even know if she had the insurance for that particular day.
The so called ‘no hassle’ auto insurance experience with Direct has been anything but no hassle as people are being given a rough time for no fault of theirs. The lady feels that people need to be warned before hand and not after the company shuts its doors. When the lady went to the office and all that she found was locked doors with a letter on it which gave a brief explanation and had an address and a phone number where the payments could be sent. But the payments had to be sent through checks and that too five days in advance (before the due date). The worry that she has is that the check might not get there in time and then she will be left uninsured. When she called the number she was told that all the direct insurance offices in Kentucky were closed due to some insurance scam. The whole point is no one knows who is part of the scam and who isn’t but the public are in general being taken for a ride.
There are other insurance companies that want to take advantage of the situation. The lady feels that the company should have at least warned her before bidding goodbye.
