    Grants of about $23 Million would be given to the District Attorney’s offices in and around the state of California to battle auto insurance fraud. Maria Ramirez who heads the division has stated that their department has literally been ‘operating on fumes’ due to the scaled-down budgets as well as the rise in crime. However, the proposed House Bill 4936 is aimed at bringing about reforms in the current auto insurance systems, which allow us to choose the level of PIP protection.     The District Attorney’s offices around the state of California will now get grants of about $23 million to tackle the auto insurance fraud. If the lawmakers in Michigan get their way, even the auto insurance companies in this state will not cover the cost of treatment for accidents caused due to use of medical marijuana.     Mike Kreidler, the insurance commissioner in the state of Washington, recently announced levying fine on auto insurance, home insurance and other insurance policies for violating various laws set down by the state government. The total fine amount totals to a little over $1 million till date. These sources, who wanted to ensure anonymity due to the confidentiality of the discussions, also went on to say that the final deal may be signed in a matter of days.
