The Hartford Financial Services Group has made an announcement today that it would make the award-winning AARP auto insurance program available via BB&T Oswald Trippe and Company Insurance Services in Southern and Central Florida.
The BB&T Oswald Trippe and Company Insurance Services has been chosen after it managed to satisfy a series of eligibility criteria that included showing a commitment towards community services, meeting very high levels of business ethics, and successfully completing a training program that had been designed exclusively to highlight the requirements of those who were in the 50+ age groups.
Tom Coyne, VP at The Hartford stated that for over 25 years, the AARP program offered by The Hartford has been very popular. He also attributed the success of this program to the innovative features that the product offered as well as the commitment to understand the real needs of the customers. He also added that they were thrilled to offer support and benefits to the customers through their independent agent partners.
According to the results of a study conducted by The Hartford, most of the AARP members preferred to take some advice of local agents while making decisions regarding their auto insurance. Based on the results of this study as well as the customer demand, The Hartford is presently offering the AARP-branded auto insurance programs through some of the select authorized independent agents. These products were earlier available only from The Hartford via phone, internet, or through mail.
The AARP-branded auto insurance program has been designed after consultation with The Hartford Advance 50 Team that helps in tailoring their products & services to suit individual needs of older adults and Baby Boomers.
Some other hallmarks that are unique in this program include:
- Lifetime continuation agreement – this offers an assurance that the insurance policy of a customer will not be dropped if a few simple requirements are taken care of.
- RecoverCare – this helps customers to pay for some assistance with daily needs such as cooking, cleaning, dog walking, shopping, transportation, and yard work in case they are injured in some type of auto accident.
- Standard 12-month rate protection versus traditional 6-month policies offered by most of the companies.
