Statistics clearly show that teenagers are more prone to commit auto accidents compared to people from higher age group. Teenage drivers are always involved in various cases like traffic violations, drinking and driving, reckless driving and accidents during nighttime. Teenagers who have just started to learn to drive may also cause accident due to diving mistakes. So, we can understand there are a lot of risks associated with teenage drivers. Hence, teenagers have to pay high insurance premiums.

The price of the insurance premium also depends on the type of the vehicle the teenager drives. If he or she drives a car that is very expensive or new, he or she will have to pay a high premium.
