The Independent Insurance Agents of America had found out that seven out of ten teenagers and college students have a car at school and college. As such, the question whether teenagers and college students should be allowed to drive could be a redundant one. Statistics reveal that teenagers and college students are only 7% of the population that drive but they had been involved in about 14% of the fatal crashes reported.

Still, they could be taught to drive safely through several methods. Majority of the states had stipulated that teenagers should have a graduated license. Further, they are prohibited from carrying other teenagers in the car or from driving in the night. The parents should insist that the teenagers and college students should not use cell phones while driving. They should be sent to authorized driving schools and the instructor should certify that the teenager is a responsible driver before he/she is allowed to drive a car.
