Being tracked with RFID can cause some confusion and some amount of paranoia among people. Somehow people are of the impression that they are either spied on or everything they do is being tracked. But this is really not the case. The only thing that actually gets tracked is what you do with your vehicle. There is something like a ‘black box’ and many new cars are fitted with this. This is not some sort of a recording device where it will record your conversations but it will be used if you have to make auto insurance claims. This will be able to show the speed of the vehicle at the time of the accident, application of brakes, and if you were wearing your seat belt, and other such details.

Some people squirm at the idea of having such tracking systems in their vehicles. However, it is a great idea especially if you have to make an insurance claim. If you have to prove that you were not at fault at the time of the accident this device could easily come to your rescue. With this device you could prove that you were not speeding and many such necessary details. Tracking can prove to be very beneficial and a lifesaver at times. The older vehicles don’t have these systems and this is a fairly new technology and is found only in the new vehicles and not in the older models. There are pros and cons to everything and this is one such classy situation where you might want to avoid the cons and you will instead end up avoiding the pros as well.

Your vehicle could also be tracked on toll roads or if you have parked your vehicle in some parking lot. These are all not done to invade your privacy but technology is useful in more ways than one. For instance, the IP address on the internet is another way to do the tracking. This is very common and well accepted as there is no way to avoid them and still benefit out of technology.

So, technology is essentially accepted as part of our daily lives. Installing tracking devices and safety features should be viewed in a more positive manner instead of viewing them as a hindrance. There are far more benefits by having these things installed and they are only meant to enhance the safety aspects of the driver and especially useful while making claims.
