The insured person should perform certain duties to comply with the regulations of the insurance policy when a loss occurs. These duties would vary from policy to policy. One would be able to find these duties in the ‘Conditions’ section of the policy. Reading these duties carefully and performing them meticulously is very important for meeting the claim. Failure to comply with one or more of such duties would relieve the insurer of the obligation in paying the claim. These duties are deemed as contractual obligations by the insured person to make the insurer to pay the claim.
