There are a number of types based on your needs and ability to pay the premium. It also depends a lot on the value of your car. It can be monetary or emotional value. But it is value all the same.
You could go for comprehensive insurance which covers all eventualities. Or you could go for fire and theft comprehensive insurance. This will cover you against loss or damage due to fire and theft. But it will not cover you for those accidents for which you were not the cause. And then lastly, you have the third party insurance or limited insurance. This only covers for those damages accrued as a result of your negligence or incompetence. In all other cases you cannot claim reimbursement for damages.
