In North America it will be designed with either a 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 160 hp and 170 pounds-feet of torque along with a six speed manual, or a 2.4- liter inline-four producing 184 hp and 177 pounds-feet of torque complimented with a nine speed automatic. Renegade is featured with Active Drive, automatically disconnecting power takeoff. The Trailhawk model comes with Active Drive Low that helps crawling over obstacles for maximum torque.

The styling of Renegade has been inspired by many earlier Jeep models like its tall greenhouse and stubby nose resembles that of the early Liberty. Front Fascia with round headlights and its seven slot-grilled has resemblance with that of Wrangler, but it differs from the later in rear that is more vertical. However, Renegade is unique in having rear brake lights with X shaped clear inserts, one traditional sunroof and another with two removable panels that gives it a striking look.

Renegade with brightly colored accents also being enhanced with 7 inch center stack infotainment screen, digitalized instrument cluster that can be customized, electronic parking brake, embossed map of an off road trail in a bin below the control panel to assist one in all ways.
