Cheap Car Insurance: Are You Entitled?

When we talk about research, we mean we investigate, examine the facts, and eventually come up with systems and methods to advance the human knowledge on that particular field.

There is one certain rule in research that states that at one point in time, somebody must have done exactly the same research you’re doing today yet both of you came up with entirely different conclusions. The bottom line is who is worthy to acquire cheap auto insurance rates? Will it be the seniors or someone in his thirty’s?

For many years, insurance companies have always considered teen drivers as catalysts of car accidents. Based on facts and figures, this claim holds true. Teen drivers get easily distracted; do some foolish tricks on the road, less driving experiences and most of all downright traffic violators. In contrast, mature and senior drivers are tested by time and careful on the road.

Unable to realize what they are doing, teen drivers often feel as being immortals. Small talks on their mobile phones while driving, twiddling on with their favorite sound system, chitchat with their passengers while swigging their favorite alcoholic beverages. These appalling factors are the very reason why finding cheap insurance premium rates for teen drivers are hard to stumble these days.

Is This A Fair Assumption?

A recent study made by Kansas State University revealed that elder drivers are in fact more hazardous on the road than their younger counterparts are. Perhaps the only reason we’re not hearing a lot of noise and glaring news about senior drivers and their road accidents is the fact that most senior drivers drive less. Unfortunately, when they do involve themselves, it is very likely that one or more vehicles are being dragged resulting in a more catastrophic bad luck.

But then again, young teen drivers normally would just hit electric poles, mailboxes or other stationary cars, as they tend to lose control over their cars.  This could only mean that while teen drivers are road hazards, they tend to do it on their own without harming other individuals, and therefore deserves a lower cheap insurance premiums.

In some other news, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has made some interesting conclusions with our senior drivers. An aggregated the data from 1997 to 2008 found out that there has been a significant decline in road accidents involving drivers aged 60 to 70 than to those between the 35 to 54 age group.

This is a good news for people who, in the next 10 years or so, will be entering this age group and that they will be assured to “still” get cheap car insurance rates.  As always, seniors can install safety features on their cars (such as anti-theft devices, alarm systems or some electronic gadgets), take the proper driving lessons, work religiously to keep their driving records free from violations and citations, and maintain an untarnished credit scores can all lead to lower premiums rates.
